The Church of the Flame

The Church of the Flame worships one Goddess of fire, know under different names including: She of Fire, The Unburned Lady and Queen of Flame and Shadow. The Church's teachings emphasises cleansing of both body and mind by the Holy Fire in the Churches. Charity is also considered a very important virtue. Finally, the most powerful psionically gifted believers are united in the Order of the Flaming Rose, who have sworn to spread the light of her Flame across the Realm.

(From the Book of Flames) Those who see the light and are willing to embrace my Flame, I will baptise with my Holy Fire. And when they arise from the flames in my temple, I will mark them on the palm of their right hand with my symbol. It will be a circle, divided into two by a flowing line. Representing my flame in red and the shadow in black. For shadows are a part of the Flame, just as death is a part of life. With this symbol I will mark them, for nothing can withstand my Flame and yet remain Unburned.

And those strong and gifted of mind, I shall not just mark their bodies, I will burn their souls and they will be reborn like the Phoenix from their own ashes. With their rebirth I will grant them powers prior inconceivable to them. They shall be marked by a flaming Rose on the palm of their left hand. And they will be known throughout the Realm as my Knights.

In the days of Prelate of Flame and Shadow Derfail Deamindron, the following message was dispatched to new Faithful;

I was very pleased to hear about your choice to be baptised in Her name. Remember that it was through your choice and your faith only that you survived the flames in her temple and so again will faith save you from the darkness. Do not fear death for it is a part of life just as the Shadow is a part of the Flame. Remember the balance between the Flame and the Shadow and understand they are one. Pray in the light of Her Flame and stand watchful in the dark, for with Her strength we can face whatever may come at us. Help your fellow men in need, be generous and ready to protect those in dire need. May Her symbol, burned into your right palm be the seal of a righteous and virtuous man. Honour the Church, for it is Her work in the Mortal Realm. Pray at her Churches for guidance and strength.

There is no true power but the power of She of Fire! This fire deity is also know as the Burning Lady or the Queen of Flame and Shadow. And She will not accept any deity's competition. It was the burning zeal of this faith that united the desert tribes, which lead them to galactic prominence. The Church balances on the new doctrine of unity and ancient customs of the wastelands and the tradition of raiding in the name of dozens of desert spirits and false deities by purges by Fire. Based on the ancient warrior cultures of the tribes, the Church values strength, courage and self sacrifice to its cause.The lives of those who follow the Church is determined by devotion to Her will. As it is only by Her grace that the mortals will find warmth in the night, light in the dark, life in death. Only by the balance between these opposites one can truly live. As opposite as they might be, they are inextricably connect. For: Cai'air gael scát'cha; The brightest Flame casts the darkest Shadow.

With her Flame, She brings the Light back to those who wandered in the Shadows, She brings warmth to those who stood in the Cold, She brings Life back to those who wandered in the Death. Embrace the Flame she gave us! Spread the word to those who long for Her warmth, for without Her guidance they are no more than the dead! As She baptised her Champions in Her Flames, so to you shall be baptised by her Flames.
