Broman (Poro-Bulgarusian)

The Poro-Bulgarusians were a faction within the Empire of Great Roma. During the Depression of Roma 2540-2610, general disgust with the leadership of the empire led to tensions within Great Roma. The Emperor declared the Poro-Bulgarusians heretics, and the majority of the splinter group fled to the budding colony worlds of Becrux, Suhail, and Alcyone 9. After the Assassination of Emperor Constantine Roma (which the Poro-Bulgarusians are highly suspected of), the Poro-Bulgarusians started a bloody succession war with Roma that lasted several centuries.

While the war technically ended, tensions between Roma and the Poro-Bulgarusians never ceased, and it is heavily implied that it was this conflict that lead to the "Disappearance of Eden." What little of Roma was left broke up and joined with the Poro-Bulgarusians, abandoning their century long hate in favor of survival.

The new peoples of the Broman, now aware of the dangers of concentrating their empires on a single planet, expanded towards the Green Crescent, where the majority of their numbers exist today. In the 340th of Claudius, 6000 years after the dissapearance of Eden, the Broman centered their operations on Mimosa, and there forged an alliance with the Murcano, the First Year in the reign of Emperor Uyelus Eridanus.

Quark

The Quark Conglomerate existed since before the formation of Great Roma, but the nation never excerpted much power. A tight-knit and hardy group, the Quark's survived conquest after conquest by larger, greedier powers. The Quarks city states, regarded as uncultured and weak, were prized for the advanced technology the Quarks were usually at the forefront of. Despite the significant changes to Quark culture over the millenia due to advancing technology, the underlying traditions and beliefs of the people have remained strict and homogenous.

During the depression of the later half of the third century of Roma, and the conflicts leading up the succession war, the Quark Conglomerate manage to successfully declare independence from Great Roma, and with the strongest economy on Eden, they managed to keep it. Using their new freedom, they spread outward, beginning space exploration and colonization before any other nation, although the Poro-Bulgarusians were quick to follow and displace them.

The Quarks, like the Poro-Bulgarusians, were hardly effected by the loss of Eden, and so set full course on space exploration, managing to stay ahead of the Broman frontier by hopping planet to planet. While the Broman followed the course of habitable planets, the Quarks jumped to Celaeno, and then Mebsuta Magna, which functioned as their orbital home for several centuries while they probed and planned for further exploration. Eventually they discovered and moved to Syrma Prime, which even today is heavily influenced by it's Quark roots. From Syrma Prime, the Quarks research and perfected terraformation technology, and soon after, faster than-light travel.

With their far, far more advanced technology, the Quarks became the Super-Powers of Eridanus for nearly two thousand years. The first colonies on all but a handful of worlds belonged to the Quarks, from all ends of the galaxy. This momentum began to shift with the new alliance of the Murcano and Bromen Empires. The new Eridani empire had began a massive research campaign to catch up with the Quarkian's advantage, and it had already managed to amass a significantly larger (although less technologically advanced) military. Already faced with a dilemna, the Quarks noticed that the Murcano had begun advanced research into the recently discovered Pisonics as well, and decided to ally with the newly formed empire, granting the fledgling empire access to its technology in exchange for access to the coveted few psionics in existence.

Murcano

The Murcanoans were also a faction within the Empire of Great Roma. During the succession wars of Great Roma following the assassination of Constantine Roma, the Murcanoans splintered from Great Roma to become the Murcano Republic, and staked their own claim to the throne. When the succession war fanally ended in 8550 Roma, the legitimate Murcano Empire arose, beside the venerable Roma. The period following the wars bore a frutful relationship between the Murcano and the Poro-Bulgarusians.

While the Poro-Bulgarusians continued space exploration, the Murcano focused on taking more of the remaining power of Roma on Eden. The Dissapearance of Eden hit the Murcano empire nearly as hard as it did it's father nation. The scattering peoples of the Murcano relied on their relationship with the new Bromen Empire to take the survivors and settle in the Blue Cluster. Not nearly as habitable as the large terrain worlds the Broman had staked claim to, the Murcano started advanced terraformation research to make habitable the frozen and hostile marine worlds of the Blue Cluster.

The prototype terraformation technology used on Kied reacted to the atmosphere in an unexpected way, killing the majority of colonists, and severely and permenantly injuring the rest - but a handful of the survivors started illustrating latent psionic abilities. It was this discovery that drew the attention of the now powerful Quark Empire, who gave the Murcano access to their superior terraformation technology in exchange for exposure to this new evolution.

Jin (Bolo-Ginanian)

The Bolo-Ginanians (Abbreviated to "Jins" in casual conversation) were also a faction within the Empire of Great Roma. Like the Murcano, they split from Great Roma during the succession wars, although they remained merely a splinter faction rather than becoming a legitamately acknowledged empire once the wars were concluded. Roma was too busy in it's power struggle with the Poro-Bulgarusians and Murcano, and so the Gins were left to their own devices. The Jin had forseen the destruction of Eden for centuries, both from religious beliefs and from observations of the steadily escalating conflicts of the Poro-Bulgarusians and Roma. Over the course of the millenium, the Jin built the two largest spacecraft in history, colloquially dubbed the 'Arcs.' These ships served their purpose when Eden vanished, and the two ships transported the entire Bolo-Ginanian nation across the whole of the galaxy at sub-light speeds. A journey that took 4000 years to make, and eventually landed the Jin on Terpischore and Miaplacidus.

Jin colonization was small, and short, mostly limited to the northeast quadrant. When the Jin colonies were discovered by the newly Eridanus-Affiliated Quarks, they were quickly bullied into joining the new unified Empire.
