~~~ BACKGROUND ~~~

The venerable House of Valencia dates back several centuries, as the patriarchal offshoot of the ancient Jaeger clan of the Chortan deserts. The House is known for its strong dueling tradition, its opulence, and a genetic history of extremely attractive and charismatic males.

Based in Mimosa, the Valencias amassed great wealth and prestige extracting and trading in precious metals, primarily gold. Expanding their operations with a revolutionary new Geological-Mercantile trading scheme, House Valencia ascended to the highest of Eridanus nobility, and came to dominate the galactic Leisure industry, exporting their luxurious lifestyle to virtually every sector in the known galaxy.

~~~ LEADERSHIP ~~~

House Valencia is headed by the three Valencia Brothers—Alexis, Leon, and Eric—of whom Alexis carries the title of Don Valencia, and is the leader of the House.

Don Alexis Valencia is a man of great élan and panache, known for his unparalleled charisma and irresistible magnetism. These traits very often manage to cover his utter incompetence at all things administrative. Despite his vanities and shortcomings, however, Alexis possesses great leadership capabilities, as demonstrated in his creation of the prominent alliance, PAX Galactica, and his instrumental role in planning and organizing the Resistance movement against Romanus Goratrix’s oppressive Reign of Terror.

~~~ LEGACIES ~~~

PAX Galactica: an alliance founded in the chaotic aftermath of the Reconquista as an organization to aid and promote the cause of the lesser Houses of Eridanus.

The Brotherhood: a new fraternal order created by Enrique Valencia in response to widespread dissatisfaction with the existing faiths. This non-religious order champions the virtues of mankind and the unity of humanity, and is still in its nascent stages.

The Eridanus Championship Open (ECO): a galaxy-wide dueling tournament chaired by Don Valencia, and hosted every few years.

~~~ APPEARANCE ~~~

The Valencia nobles very much resemble the old "Musketeers" of ancient folklore; indeed, the Valencia dynasty draws its lineage from similar cultural roots. Customary Valencia garb consists of knee-high leather boots, a red tunic bearing the Crest of Valencia covering a flowing shirt of white silk, a dark-red velveteen cape, and a wide-brimmed beige capitano hat topped with a colorful plume. Most Valencia nobles also don long dueling gloves and carry custom-made plasma foils at their side.

Following the coup that deposed him from the Throne, Alexis Valencia disappeared and was not heard from again. It was not until House Vaarklan joined the Eridani nobility that the final years of Alexis Valencia were finally brought to light.
