House Invernigon

Doge Arwain Invernigon was from minor gentry of Acubens, when, as a result of various deeds of derring-do on the High Seas, he was granted greater title and lands; eventually, he was elected the Doge of Verdenice, a small coastal trading city far past its prime. His (or, more accurately, his brother-in-law Jerome's) expansion of the city's aquaculture, as well as the "discovery" of a hardier coastal grape-vine long grown by the locals, propelled Doge Arwain to greater success, granting him invitations to various gatherings of galactic nobility.

• Emperor Griogal Invernigon

• Doge Griogal inherited power in his early 30s and has retained it since. Son of Doge Ysbail the Mad, Griogal had been sidelined by Ysbail's jealous brother and Consigliere, Ulrich. Thus, Griogal ascended to the Ducal throne prepared only by a modest military career. The transition was aided in large part by Jerome the Wise, a powerful but aging statesman who wielded considerable influence within House Invernigon and in Galactic politics. His first wife and love-of-his life, Kenziah, was killed in a Questian attack when she was in her 30s and he in his 40s.

• Bethel Invernigon

• The second wife of Doge Griogal, Bethel has born him no children, and is rumored to suffer from depression. She came from the briefly prominent "Common" House of Glenn. She is twenty years The Doge's junior.

• Leon Invernigon, Earl of Slalom

• The heir apparent to the Invernigonian throne, Leon has served an important role in the day-to-day operations of the House since his 20s. He currently heads InvernExtraction. Leon is rather vain and headstrong.

• Constancia Invernigon

• Constancia is well-known for her intellect, health and pragmatism. As a younger woman, she excelled in athletics was something of a Tomboy as a child. She ran InverniTech, and for a time enjoyed immense importance and favor as a result. She is married to Nagachika Houraisan, and is considered a good counterpart to his more dashing and flashy personality.

• Beatrix Invernigon

• Beatrix, Constancia's younger sister, was renowned for he beauty, though it has faded with age. Serving just one term in the Senate before being narrowly defeated in re-election, Beatrix kept the Invernigonian political machine running for well over a decade. During her fifteen-year political career, she was a favorite of teletube news-shows for her looks and charisma. She does not posses the cunning of her siblings, but her perseverance won her more than one close election. She currently heads the InvernErection company, a construction and contracting corporation.

Invernigonian Corporations

InverniTech - InverniTech used to produce a wide variety of products, from spaceships to medications to "feminine supplies". Currently it exists as a holding company for Invernigonian patents and minor research contractor. Once worth over a million Solars, with over $5 million in annual revenue, InverniTech's material assets are negligible, though it retains value in the form of intellectual property.

InverniTrade - A trade and shipping company with emphasis on trade in minerals, precious metals and radioactive material, InverniTrade is largely defunct, it serves a a shell company and IP holding company.

InvernErection - A construction contractor with annual revenues of $3 to $5 million per year. Privileged Stock ownership is as follows: Doge Griogal Invernigon, 60%; Beatrix Invernigon, 30%; Leon Invernigon, 10%.

InvernExtraction - A mining and extraction company with assets valued at between $4 and $7 million, with revenues of over $3 million annually. Privileged Shareholders: Leon Invernigon, 49%; Doge Griogal Invernigon, 49%, InverniTrade, 2%.
