House Goratrix

Little is known about the origins of this reclusive House. Rumor has it that they are the descendants of explorers who got lost in the depths of uncharted space, returning to the known planets of Eridanus many generations later. While they have quietly ruled their once impoverished homeworld, Ancha, for many years, they have only recently become players on the inter-planetary stage. Their admission into the Imperial Guard under Emperor Constantine was followed by a period of rapid expansion, with the House leadership finally coming to reside on Alkaid. House Goratrix then made a play for power and failed miserably, causing a stark change in policy. House Goratrix then maintained strict neutrality in political affairs and advocated peace and non-intervention. After seveal years of tyranny under House Ventruz, Austinus reclaimed the throne politically and enacted numerous reforms, hoping to restrict Imperial power, but only held power for 8 months before being overthrown in a miltary coup by House Vulcan. At this time, Austinus's brother-in-law, Romanus, began quietly preparing for a war to reclaim the throne. During the Reconquista, Autinus vanished in mysterious circumstances, leaving Romanus as the Regent until Patricius, the rightful Emperor comes of age.

Both members of the House and their agents are known for wearing dark, plain clothing and deep hoods pulled low over their faces, although many younger members of the House have taken to wearing veils, instead. They have a reputation of being dour traditionalists and ruthless competitiors in the business world.
