Establishment of the Triumvirate

On the 21st of Virtue, a motion called the Imperial Reform Bill was submitted by Senator Ramon Lawalin, who owed fealty to House Aponia. The bill called for the deposition of House Constantine as emperor, and for the separation of his powers into 3 offices, the Justicar, the Executor, and the Treasurer, who would rule the galaxy by committee. At the time of passing, House Constantine held 28 votes of the 57 senate seats available. House Goratrix held 15, House Aponia 12, and House Slick Ink 2. The combined votes of all non-constantine houses would be able to overthrow Constantine's vote, and the legislation called for all three non-Constantine houses to be given one of the three offices.

Despite the draw, the bill was still presumed to be dead on arrival, as House Goratrix had traditionally been the most adamantly pro-Constantine house in the galaxy, and had defended the Emperor's house both rhetorically and militarily in the past. It was quite an upset when, on the 21st of Fates, the bill passed.

The overwhelming power of the Imperial Guard was thwarted with the senate motion that deposed Emperor Thomas Constantine, and placed Constantine's most trusted house, House Goratrix, in charge of the empire in an alliance with House Aponia and House Slick Ink. Soon after the establishment of The Triumvirate, Constantine began a galaxy wide embargo on House Aponia. Within a year of establishment of the Triumvirate, 3 senators under the employ of House Aponia were caught and executed for embezzlement. Justicar Austinus Goratrix moved to have Executor Valentinus Aponia removed from the triumvirate, in addition to a few other measures, but the motion was defeated in favor of the Triumvirate Reform Act that House Aponia sponsored - possible only with the support of House Constantine and House Slick Ink.
