Custom Crest Guide

To get a custom crest in Imperium Nova (a picture on your crest besides one of the default pictures shown), you'll need one of two things: the ability to make your own crest, or access to a person who does. Luckily, if you are not skilled in Photoshop or any other image editing software, there are several players that will happily fulfill a request to have one done for you.

Once you have your crest in hand, you'll have to email the gm with the file and tell him the colors and crest background you want it implemented in. Because it's custom, you won't be able to change the crest at will like default crests. Simon has said that he'll be picked the best custom crests to be used in V2.0.

If you do know how to make your own crest, here are the rules you have to follow:

• The image cannot be larger than 28 x 28 pixels, and smaller images tend to look better since they don't scrape the sides of the crest.
  

• One of two colors: and the second color should probably be black. The main color will be made editable by Simon when he uploads the crest to the server. Try and make the main color silver.
  

• The image has to be a transparent .gif. It also has to be RGB so that Simon can change the color. If you didn't understand any of that, I'd suggest contacting one of the above players who can sort it out for you.
  

• Keep in mind that the bottom corners of the image will be cut off due to the shape of the shield when you design your crest.
