Assault on House Vulcan

The largest feud war in Eridanus history involved a cooperative attack by all three members of Novos Ordo Seclorum on the headquarters of House Vulcan on Dnoces, resulting in the destruction of House Vulcan's HQ and the loss of his primary Tech Stack. In response, the Imperial Guard destroyed House Quincy's tech stack on Izar Secundus, and House Dello and House Aponia were embargoed by House Constantine. After some months, House Aponia attacked House Constantine, and suffered signficantly more attacks by all members of the Imperial Guard. Shortly afterward, peace talks were completed.

The event traces it's origins back a few months prior to the initial assault on House Vulcan, when House Aponia launched an apparently unprovoked attack on House Constantine on Alcor 13 utilizing feud from a broken research agreement. Shortly after the attacks, House Aponia accepted a standing agreement sent by House Constantine, removing the feud gained from the attack. In response, House Constantine's allies, House Goratrix, House Vulcan, and House Ventruz all attacked House Aponia on 3 undefended planets. In one case, House Goratrix enacted a Liesure monopoly for House Vulcan after destroying House Aponia's Leisure Facilities. In 2 cases, House Goratrix and House Ventruz both accepted standing agreements afterward to reduce the feud House Aponia gained from the attack.

Two months later, House Dello, House Quincy, and House Aponia all launched military operations on House Vulcan's Headquarters on Dnoces. House Sirendeous dispatched a 4 legion patrol to defend Vulcan after House Dello's initial assault was repelled (although signficant damage was done to the fort), and succeeded in repelling House Quincy's followup assault. House Aponia's assault destroyed the entire patrol, all 4 remaining Vulcan legions, the remnants of the fort and all of House Vulcan's technology facilities, which counted more than 100.

In response, Constantine launched two attacks on House Aponia and House Quincy on Izar Secundus. The first assault signficantly damaged House Aponia's indomitable fort, but was repelled. The second destroyed the remaining legions, Quincy's medium fort, and the entirety of House Quincy's technology facilities there. House Constantine also placed an Embargo on House Dello and House Aponia.

Some months later, Constantine made a public announcement that he had noticed that 7 senators under the employ of House Aponia had granted House Aponia tax exemptions, and that 10 senators had placed sphere-specific taxes that seemed to specifically target spheres where House Constantine had majority holdings. Constantine demanded the immediate removal of all unauthorized legislation, as they violated the Golden Rule, and none of the legislation had been publicly announced, or debated prior to execution.

House Aponia removed all tax exemptions, but then on several planets granted a Transportation sphere tax exemption, for which House Aponia would have gained the most benefit from. House Constantine responded by demanding the resignation of all 7 senators.

House Aponia responded within the week by launching 4 assaults on House Constantine, one being completely ineffective, one reducing the target fortress by one level before being repulsed, one destroying an entire fortress before being repulsed, and one assault destroying 2 indomitable fortresses and all geological holdings of House Constantine. The successful attack also couped the planetary government, killing the active senator, and placing Emelia Aponia in charge of the government. Emelia granted House Aponia a tax exemption and then altered the budget to 40/60/0/0 before resigning her position as senator.

In response, House Aponia was assaulted by House Constantine, House Goratrix, House Ventruz, and House Sirendeous on several planets, resulting in the coup of one senator and the destruction of over half of House Aponia's transportation infrastructure, and the destruction of House Aponia's HQ. During this exchange, House Aponia began embargoing House Ventruz and House Sirendeous.

Peace talks were signed, ending all combat between Novos Ordo Seclorum and the Imperial Guard, along with the dropping of all embargoes, the reversal of all targeted taxation, and the resignation of the six remaining senators that had been called to resign.
