Description
House Jaeger announced to Eridanus a new policy they had instigated on Ancha - namely, the crippling of the planets economy. Senator Emily Jaeger elaborated to the senate that Ancha was a worthless planet in virtually every regard - tiny population, poverty-stricken economy... but that to Mercantile houses, it was a gem. She stated that her policy from then on would be to keep the infrastructure of the planet at 0% to make sure that the planet did not experience an economic boom. Often she stated that she was not causing a "recession" since the economy could not get worse, but that she was merely keeping the "status quo."
House Constantine did not agree. The Emperor felt that Senator Emily Jaeger's stated motivations and procedures were contrary to the Golden Rule, and House Goratrix elaborated that he did not find this policy conducive to the well-being of the people of his homeplanet. Constantine gave House Jaeger an ultimatum - to reverse their legislation and resign the post, or to be removed by force.
Within a week, House Constantine passed an emergency senate motion with his majority in the senate, The Senate petitions the Emperor to restore the status quo ante Jaeger governorship on Ancha , which removed Ancha from Imperial Jurisdiction. House Goratrix launched an attack on Jaeger's transportation facilities (the fewer of the two spheres they had present on Ancha), and couped the planet, putting Romanus Goratrix in charge of the planet, and resulting in the death of Emily Jaeger. Romanus Goratrix then petitioned the planet be returned to Imperial Jurisdiction, and the Constantine complied.
The outcry from the Collaborative Commerce Coalition was tremendous, and Romanus Goratrix has rarely been able to go into a public discussion without being implied a murderer by House Ganurath or House Quincy. Several houses contributed funds to a memorial on Ancha, the Emily Jaeger Memorial, which read This monument honors Emily Jaeger, former governor of Ancha, who gave her life in the pursuit of peace and prosperity for the people of Ancha and the whole of the Eridanus at large.
Senator Romanus Goratrix oversaw, but did not attend the opening ceremony.
